Activin‐A decreases proliferation in CD14+ monocultures. CD14+ cells isolated from a buffy coat from a healthy donor were cultured for 7 and 14 days in the presence of M‐CSF and RANK‐L without and with 50 ng/ml Activin‐A. Proliferation from Day 7 to Day 14 is shown (average increase without Activin‐A 2.98 ± 0.18, with Activin‐A 2.00 ± 0.22, **). n = 3 (Wilcoxon matched‐pairs signed rank test, ** p ≤ 0.01).
