Perfusion defect size in myocardial segments before and after PCI of a CTO and a non‐CTO lesion. At baseline, the average perfusion defect size was significantly more comprehensive in the CTO group compared with the non‐CTO group. Percutaneous revascularization led to significant improvements with small residual perfusion defects in both groups as a result. Error bars display mean ± SEM. Corresponding values are mean ± SD.
