Annexin V FITC/PI staining. Annexin V-PI staining was used to assess the mode of cell death. C1- and C2-treated MCF-7 cells showed an increased percentage of apoptotic cell population after 24 h incubation. The population of early and late apoptotic cell percentage in the control group was found to be lower and the live cell percentage was higher in control cells compared with the experimental groups. A significant decrease (∗∗∗p < 0.001) in the live cell and increase in the early and late apoptosis and dead cell percentage were observed in C1- and C2-treated MCF-7 cells.
