Dates were determined based on the reported start date for sample collection for each study. In some cases, isolate collection ended in a different period, which makes categories overlap for some studies. Moreover, the number of STs included in databases has grown over time. The absence of some STs might reflect the fact that these STs had not yet been added to the MLST allele database.
