DAMPs released during MP and graft reperfusion are biologically active and stimulate TLRs. Perfusate samples at the end of MP and end of reperfusion were incubated with TLR reporter cell lines. TLR stimulation produces activation of NF‐κB, which is linked to secretion of alkaline phosphatase into the cell media and detected by a colorimetric assay.
