Effect of chronic METH on cells. C6 astroglia-like cells were treated with METH for 48 h. Lipid peroxidation (A, n = 6), lactate release (B, n = 9–12) and glutathione level (C, n = 6) were evaluated calorimetrically in a plate reader. For cell cycle analysis (D, n = 3), the cells were harvested and stained by PI staining solution for 1 h in the dark and analyzed by flow cytometry. Data were represented as mean ± SEM, *P < 0.05 or **P < 0.01, significant compared to control, one-way ANOVA, Dunnett’s multiple comparison test.
