a. Effect of SiO2@LA NPs on the reactive oxygen species (ROS) level in MCF-7 cells. Cells were treated with of 10 µg/mL and 40 µg/m of NPs for 24 h and 48 h at 37 °C and 43 °C incubated with 100 µM DCFH-DA. Cells fluorescence was measured. Controls sample were represented by cells without SiO2@LA NPs exposure. As a positive control (P), cells were incubated with 500 µM H2O2 showing a ca. 300% DCFH-DA increase (not show). b. ROS values expressed in percentage obtained on MCF-7 cells after 24 h and 48 h exposure to 10 µg/mL and 40 µg/mL of blank SiO2NPs and free LA at 37 °C and 43 °C. Data reported as mean ± SD from three independent experiments are considered statistically significant compared with control (n = 8) for p value ˂ 0.05, (<0.05 *).
