Hypothesis mechanism of intestinal metaplasia of the gastric mucosa in HFD-induced obese mice. Amount of HFD causes lipotoxic milieu in the gastric epithelium, in particular, function of lysosome and mitochondria is impaired, although it remains unclear why gastric leptin is increased due to HFD feeding.
