The cumulative incidence of first-onset viral infection or death after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation at the University of Michigan Medical Center. The study cohort consisted of 738 hematopoietic cell transplantation recipients. Cytomegalovirus DNA testing was performed routinely. Epstein-Barr virus, community-acquired respiratory viruses, human herpesvirus 6, and herpes simplex virus were undertaken when clinically indicated.
