A focal cortical cerebral ischemia model with PVD injury affects expressions of AMPARs and adenosine receptors in hippocampus. Two days after PVD or sham surgeries, hippocampal slices were prepared for biotinylation and subsequent immunoblotting, and some slices were used for electrophysiology (Fig. 12). The resulting focal cortical lesions decreased surface expression of GluA2 (A), GluA1 (B), and A1R (C) but increased A2AR expression (D) in PVD at both ipsilateral and contralateral sides of the hippocampus compared with sham-operated animals.
