The spatio-temporal filter model of first-, second-, and third-order motion extended to posturo-temporal filters for body motion perception. In first-, second-, and third-order motion, spatio-temporal filters are applied to spatial maps of different features: luminance, texture, and salience. The posturo-temporal filter model uses a similar principle on a representation of body postures arranged in a map-like structure according to the temporal evolution of body posture during an action.
