Dosage compensation coefficient (DCC) for eQTLs across tissues. DCC is estimated for tissues with at least three eQTLs that satisfied the within tissue Bonferroni significance threshold in each of the 22 tissue-types. A mean of 28 (SD = 18) eQTL are identified in the male discovery analysis giving a mean DCC of 1.94 (SD = 0.16) across 22 tissues. A mean of 5 (SD = 0.82) eQTLs are identified in the female discovery analysis giving mean DCC of 1.59 (SD = 0.13) across seven tissues. The coloured bars represent the standard errors. Males were down-sampled 100 times so that the proportions match that of females within each of the seven tissues, and mean DCC is calculated across the 100 replicates. The grey bars represent the standard deviation across 100 replicates. SD, standard deviation
