Clockwise rotation of the rod was tested occasionally (see Table 1) to assess whether this less familiar rotation direction revealed more falls in lesioned rats as well as interactions with the effects of incline (N = 44, n = 11 per group). a, The more severe effects of clockwise rotation in SAP and DL rats than in shams and 6-OHDA rats (see Results for omnibus ANOVA), with SAP rats now producing as many falls as DL rats. b, Steeper inclines did not reveal more severe effects of the lesions (because of the absence of significant interactions between the effects of group, rotation direction, and incline, multiple comparisons are not indicated in b).
