Associations of dual‐energy x‐ray absorptiometry (DXA)–derived measures of body composition with systolic blood pressure (SBP). Analyses are of the combined Oxford BioBank and UK Biobank imaging studies. Mean difference in SBP is given per SD higher DXA‐derived measure of body composition, with adjustment for age, height, education, occupation, alcohol consumption, and all other mutually exclusive DXA‐derived measures of fat and fat‐free mass. Exclusions are in Table 1. In addition, those on blood pressure–lowering medication were excluded.
