Enhanced kidney injury molecule (KIM)-1 immunostaining in the renal outer medulla and cortex during recovery from ischemia-reperfusion (IR). On day 16 after IR, kidneys were harvested to localize KIM-1 protein expression by immunostaining. IR enhanced renal KIM-1 immunostaining in the outer medulla and cortex in both genotypes. Absence of Na⁺-glucose cotransporter SGLT1 appeared to attenuate the increase in KIM-1 immunostaining in both regions. Representative images are shown from n = 6 mice/group.
