Increased inhibition of protein synthesis is correlated with an increased suppression of neural activity. Experiments were grouped according to the degree of protein synthesis inhibition measured using autoradiography to compare the degree of suppression of neural activity measures. The decrease in both CSD (A) and multiunit activity (MUA) (B) measures were directly scaled to the degree of decreased incorporation of radiolabeled amino acids in the ipsilateral HPC.
