Functional community structure is supported by differential anatomical wiring within and across modules. Anatomical connections are depicted for functionally defined modules. Unidirectional connections (red) are predominantly between modules, whereas bidirectional connections (blue) are more abundant within modules. Modules 1–4 are shown clockwise starting from the top left (colors as in Fig. 3B). The size of each node is scaled according to its apex ratio (see Fig. 7).
