On the example of a single subject's MRI dataset, the group average seed region in the left rostral cingulate zone and target regions in the left ventral anterior and ventral lateral anterior thalamic nuclei and remaining portion of the thalamus (non-VA/VLa, brown) are shown. The connecting pathways between aMCC and thalamic regions are colored accordingly. Note that the majority of streamlines are clearly heading toward the VA/VLa regions. For visualization purposes, pathways extending in directions other than toward the thalamus have been clipped.
