Fig. 8 — Retinal response of ${sO}_{2}$ in major vessels to acute IOP elevation. As IOP increases, the venous ${sO}_{2}$ drops in nonlinear fashion while arterial ${sO}_{2}$ is well maintained, resulting in an increased oxygen extraction (A-V ${sO}_{2}$ ). Data points at IOPs of 90 and 100 mmHg were not obtainable due to severe nonperfusion.
