Representative images of double labeling for laminin β1 and CSC markers: A, Notch-1; B, Notch-3; C, CD133; D, Nestin; and E, c-Myc in fresh-frozen human brain samples analyzed by immunofluorescence. Non-tumor human brain tissue was used as a control. The expression of Nestin and c-Myc was found both close to and far from vessels positive for laminin β1 staining. Note weak to no staining for all markers in non-tumor brain and markedly increased expression in WHO grade IV gliomas (glioblastomas). All scale bars = 25 μm.
