Optimal oxyhemoglobin saturation across age groups. Current evidence suggests that maintaining an SpO2 target range ~90%–95% has the most favorable outcomes in extremely premature infants, term newborns suffering from pulmonary hypertension, older infants admitted with bronchiolitis, as well as critically ill adults (94%–98%) admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU).
