Human immunological and clinical food allergy parameters that can be recreated by the available mouse food allergy models (anaphylactic shock and the associated parameters and symptoms, itching and swelling of lips, tongue, face, and throat, diarrhea caused by allergic intestinal inflammation, and the immunological parameters of the allergic Th2 reaction (Th2 inflammation, IgE production, as well mast cell activation, degranulation, and expansion)) are marked with green checkmarks, parameters that have up to now proven difficult to reproduce in mice (the often with food allergic reactions associated skin reactions (hives, itching, and eczema), abdominal pain, and nausea) are marked with red stop signs. Please note that mice are anatomically unable to vomit.
