The crop duct unit is surrounded by an unknown fluid, which may be hemolymph and this in turn is surrounded by the crop duct muscles (CDM). As shown in Figs. 7 and 8, it is obvious that the crop duct nerve bundle is attached to the crop duct by a connector (NBC), magnification 600×.
