Only neurons responding to one or more variant of each vocalization are included. ↑ indicates that the number of spikes increased by >20%. ↓ indicates that the number of spikes decreased by >20%. Δ indicates that the temporal pattern changed significantly, as determined by the classification rule defined in Equation 4. ∼ indicates that no significant changes occurred in either spike rate or temporal pattern.
