WhiB3 is required for the development of human Granuloma. Image shows granuloma formation upon incubation of 1 million human PBMCs with wt Mtb or MtbΔwhiB3 at MOI 0.01, 0.005 and 0.001. Note that all the aggregates after MtbΔwhiB3 infection were composed of less than 50 PBMCs (< 50 μm) and therefore not classified as granulomas. Images were taken 16× (10× with 1.6 zoom).
