IFNγR deficiency leads to the massive recruitment of neutrophils in dermal tissue. Wild-type, IFNγR−/−, IL-17RA−/−, and TNFR1−/− C57BL/6 mice were infected intradermally with a dose of 2 × 104 CFU of mCherry-B. melitensis. Control wild-type mice were injected with PBS. Mice were sacrificed at 3 days post infection and the footpad was harvested and analyzed by fluorescent microscopy. The panels are color-coded with the text for DAPI, phalloidin, mCherry-B.melitensis, and LY-6G. Scale bar = 100 μm. These data are representative of two different experiments.
