In vivo effect of melatonin on the radiation-induced actions on the VEGF-stimulated angiogenesis in the chorioallantoic membrane assay. Eggs were irradiated and alginate beads with VEGF 1.57 pM, as stimulator of blood vessel formation, with and without melatonin 1 mM, were placed on the chorioallantoic membrane on day 11 of development.
