diC14 induces systemic resistance. Two leaves per plant were infiltrated with mock solution, diC14 or diC16 (20 μg/mL each). One day later, three untreated secondary leaves were used to evaluate either gene expression (a, c) or pathogen resistance (b). Expression of PR1 and FRK1 genes was studied as described in Fig. 1. (b) Leaves infiltrated with Pst (105 cfu/mL) were analysed at 3 days post‐infection, as described in Fig. 2.
