A model representing circadian clock–defence cross‐talk. Pathogen elicitors provide an input to the circadian clock via an unknown intermediate (depicted by a question mark). The circadian clock thus modulates the expression of various defence‐related circadian‐controlled genes (CCGs) via a putative binding of clock components to the promoter region of CCGs.
