Lung β5i and IFN-γ expression in infected neonatal and adult mice. Neonatal (7 days old) and adult (6 to 8 weeks old) B6 mice were infected i.n. with MAV-1 or mock infected with conditioned media. RT-qPCR was used to quantify expression of β5i (A) and IFN-γ (B) mRNA levels in lungs harvested at 9 dpi (neonatal mice) or 7 dpi (adult mice). Data for are presented as the fold change in infected mice (n = 8 to 18 per group) compared to expression levels measured in mock-infected control mice of the same age (n = 4 per age).
