Determined from the equation pH = pKa + log [(Amax – A)/(A – Amin)].
Molar absorptivity ε in mol–1 L cm–1.
The detection limit (DL) was determined using the equation DL = 3.3σ/S, where σ is the standard deviation of the blank absorbance at the λmax at pHs 1 and 7 for 10 blank samples and S is the slope of the calibration curve based on plots of the absorbance at λmax for seven concentrations between 10 and 100 μM at pHs 1 (dilute HCl) and 7 (N-(2-hydroxyethyl)piperazine-N′-ethanesulfonic acid (HEPES) buffer). Good linearity was observed with R2 > 0.997.
Log P values determined using Chemsketch product version 12.01.
