Removal of MT1 alters the metabolic response of C3H mice to DIO. Male mice were fed ad libitum with a HFD (D12451, 45% kcal/fat, Research Diets Inc.) from weaning at 4 weeks of age until 20 weeks of age. (A) MT1 KO mice showed a small, but significant cumulative weight gain with respect to control (B). Fasting glucose levels were significantly higher in MT1 KO mice after 10 weeks of HFD.
