After primary astrocytes were treated with SNP (0.5 mm), H₂O₂ (1 mm), or paraquat (PQ) (100 μm) with or without LCN2 proteins (10 μg/ml) for 24 h, the nature of cell death was determined by PI and annexin V staining followed by flow cytometry. Percentage of necrotic or apoptotic cell death was based on flow cytometric analysis.
