Seeds from two different retail suppliers (see Table S1) were used for sequencing BevuMV1.

Due to trouble extracting adequate RNA from Red Magic seeds, we grew these seeds into plantlets. For Merlin, we purchased plantlets from a local nursery. The plantlets of these two cultivars were then used for extracting RNA, RT–PCR, and sequencing of BevuMV1.
