Mean (± SEM) percentage of maternal behavior averaged over the first 6 d postpartum. The frequency of the different maternal behaviors, including LG, was summed over the 6 d period, and percentages for each maternal behavior were calculated. Dams used in the current study differed in the percentage of LG and flat-back nursing averaged over the first week of life.
