Effects of open-field exposure on extracellular 5-HT levels in the hippocampus. Mice were transferred from the home cage to the open field and returned to the home cage after 30 min as indicated by the bars on the top. The hippocampal extracellular 5-HT levels were continuously measured through the procedure. Data are given as percentages of the mean values before the open-field exposure (n = 5).
