Neurite elongation by SDF-1α is dependent on mDia1. A, The EC neurons obtained from rats at postnatal day 0 were transfected with mDia1 siRNA or control siRNA (si control). Western blot demonstrates reduction of mDia1 expression at 24 and 48 h by mDia1 siRNA. The expression of Rho kinase (ROKα) or CXCR4 was not changed by mDia1 siRNA. B, Mean length of the longest neurite per neuron. The mDia1 knockdown resulted in inhibition of SDF-1α-dependent axon elongation.
