Dopamine does not appear to be involved in the tyramine inhibition of 5-HT-dependent responses to dilute octanol. Wild-type animals and mutant animals deficient in dopaminergic signaling were examined for their ability to respond to dilute octanol in the presence or absence of 5-HT, DA, and/or TA, as described in Materials and Methods.
