Patterns of oligodendrocyte apoptosis in wild-type and PLP/SOCS1 mice. Note that apoptotic oligodendrocytes in the PLP/SOCS1 mice were localized at some distance from the edge of the inflammatory lesions, whereas in the wild-type mice they were within the lesion.
