Expression profiles of susceptibility loci for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Inspection of the OMIM database combined with literature searches identified 127 genes that have been implicated in susceptibility to either schizophrenia or bipolar disorder. Fifty-five of these loci had identifiable rat homologs that were detected as being expressed in this study. To facilitate presentation, partitional clustering was applied to these 55 genes resulting in the generation of 10 clusters, expression profiles of which are shown. A–E, Five clusters were composed of more than one gene. The loci within each of these five clusters are listed.
