Colocalization between p-cPLA₂ and mitochondria. A, A large increase in p-cPLA₂ was found in the cytoplasm after treatment with Aβ_1–42 for 20 min, indicating that Aβ_1–42 increased phosphorylation of cPLA₂. Scale bar, 15 μm. B, Quantitative analysis of colocalization between mitochondria and p-cPLA₂. Data from confocal images showed that ∼10% of the p-cPLA₂ was initially localized in mitochondria and remained unchanged for at least 10 min after Aβ_1–42 treatment. After treatment with Aβ_1–42 for 20 min, the amount of p-cPLA₂ colocalized with mitochondria increased at least twofold (*p < 0.01). Values are mean ± SD obtained from at least 40 cells from three independent experiments.
