Rotarod and open-field tests. A, Motor performance was tested by using the accelerating rotarod in five consecutive trials with 15 min interval. Results indicate the time (seconds) that mice remained on the rotating rod before falling. No differences were observed between Lmx1bf/f/p mice and wild-type mice. One-way ANOVA followed by Fisher's post hoc analysis. B, The general activity levels of the Lmx1bf/f/p mice were not different from wild-type mice in total ambulations (whole-body movements) or numbers of rearings quantified over a 1 h period.
