Eye movements of five subjects in the pursuit and fixation tasks. Eye movements were recorded during sinusoidal pursuit of a target at two different speeds (4 and 8°/s peak velocity) in the consistent and opponent condition and during straight-ahead fixation. Eye and target movements were horizontal. Each black trace represents the eye movement data from an individual subject on a representative 24 s trial. Note that the subjects' overlapping data traces are closely aligned with the target position (thick gray) under each condition.
