Muscimol injected into the BLA prevents the elevation of Arc mRNA normally produced by contextual fear conditioning. Relative Arc mRNA (±SEM) was measured in the hippocampus after contextual fear conditioning. Either muscimol or vehicle was injected into the BLA region before conditioning.
