Chemical structures of natural carotenoids and retinoids.

Carotenoids are precursors of vitamin A. Carotenoid precursors are found in plant-based foods such as dark and yellow vegetables, carrots, and fruits. Natural retinoids are chemical derivatives of vitamin A (retinol). Natural retinoids are found in animal-based foods such as liver, kidney, eggs, and dairy products.
