The effectiveness of rifampicin on preventing destruction of blood–brain barrier (BBB) integrity in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE). The permeability of BBB was measured by Evans blue (EB) content on day 21 after immunization in four mice per group. EB was calculated as micrograms per gram of brain tissue against a standard curve. The normal mice were used as a negative control (n = 4). Statistical analysis was performed using one‐way anova followed by LSD post hoc test to compare replicate by time. Values are shown as mean ± SEM. Statistical significance: #p < 0.05, compared with normal mice; *p < 0.05, compared with vehicle‐treated mice; **p < 0.01, compared with vehicle‐treated mice.
