Association of fusions with genomic instability. (A) DEEPEST fusions are significantly correlated with the TP53 mutation frequency. (B) Detected fusions are highly enriched in genes cataloged by COSMIC. For all tumor types, except for uterine carcinosarcoma (UCS), UCEC, pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma (PCPG), UVM, TGCT, kidney chromophobe (KICH), thymoma (THYM), and adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC), the observed fraction significantly exceeds the expected fraction based on the null hypothesis of random pairing (Bonferroni-corrected FDR < 0.05).
