Effect of alcohol on hepatic lipid accumulation in SphK2−/− mice. Wild type (WT) and SphK2−/− mice (male and female, 20 weeks old) were fed Lieber-DeCarli control diet or 5% alcohol diet for 60 days. The liver sections were subjected to H&E staining, Oil Red O, and Masson’s Trichrome staining. The images were taken with an Olympus microscope equipped with an image recorder using a 400× lens.
