Ethylene alters phototaxis of Geitlerinema. Cells were placed on soft agar and exposed to light as described in the section “Materials and Methods.” Phototaxis in air versus 1000 nL L^–1 exogenous ethylene was examined. (A) Phototaxis responses to 42 μmol m^–2 s^–1 of white light for 5 d compared to 16 μmol m^–2 s^–1 of red light for 2 d, green light for 2 d, or blue light for 5 d are shown.
