Oxidative stress is responsible for NKA inhibitory activity of plumbagin. The average percent inhibition of the outward current measured at +50 mV in CTAC cells treated with vehicle, plumbagin (5 µM), plumbagin (5 µM with ATP (5 mM- supplied in pipet solution) and cells pretreated with NAC (2 mM) prior to exposure with plumbagin (5 µM) is plotted.
